The denim is woven on an old-fashioned GL3 power loom using Samurai cotton for the weft, resulting in a 15.8oz Samurai Cotton GL3 selvedge. The inside lining features a slubby, olive-colored herringbone lining. The top button is an iron laurel button, while the fly buttons feature SAMURAI JAPAN iron buttons. The SAMURAI CO. LTD rivets and hidden rivets are brass two-prong types, for a more substantial feel. The leather label is based on the design of Samurai Jeans' early wartime models. To capture the look of jeans from that era, the stitching is of course all cotton, with careful attention paid to the thread color, pattern, stitch count, and stitch width. It also features the classic wartime stitching and raw-cut edges on the pocket bottoms. The silhouette is a slightly wide straight cut with generous room in the rise and hips.
