Carhartt is an American workwear institution founded in Detroit in 1889 by Hamilton Carhartt, originally intended to outfit railroad workers with ultra-resistant duck canvas. Having become a symbol of authenticity and durability thanks to legendary pieces like the Detroit jacket or the Watch Hat knit beanie, the brand has spanned the decades to be adopted by the hip-hop scene and urban cultures starting in the 1990s. This trajectory gave birth to its European division, Carhartt WIP (Work In Progress), which reinterprets the parent company's utilitarian and robust classics through contemporary cuts and sharp collaborations, establishing itself as a global pillar of streetwear.
